These were powerhouse teams with three Heisman winners among them--Notre Dame's Johnny Lujack and Army's Doc Blanchard ("Mr. Inside") and Glenn Davis ("Mr. Outside"). Not to mention legendary coaches Earl Blaik and Frank Leahy! It was an epic encounter between the nation's top two teams that ended in a defensive stalemate, 0-0. Both teams finished the year with an undefeated 6-0 record and this one tie. Includes: Program - GD/VG with Lon Keller cover and vintage cover notation "The Game of the Century 0-0." Signed Index Cards/Cachets - NM, "8-9" overall, w/Blaik, Leahy (pers.), Lujack, Davis, Blanchard and Arnold Tucker. Menu Pair - New York Central System train luncheon menus for ND students traveling to game (6-1/4 x 10-1/4", EX w/center folds). Auction LOA from JSA.
