1943 Del Rio Sectional Aeronautical Chart Aeronautical Chart of Del Rio (O-4), dated July 8, 1943, compiled and printed at Washington D C by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, L. O. Colbert, Director. Map is bordered by P-4 El Paso, P-5 Austin, P-6 Beaumont, O-5 San Antonio, O-6 New Orleans, and N-5 Corpus Christi. Map measures 48" x 24". It is marked " RESTRICTED " with the following notations at the bottom: "Consult 'Weekly Notices to Airmen' for changes occuring in aeronautical information on this chart after July 8, 1943." "WARNING: Due to war conditions, lights, radio facilities and other aids to air navigation may be changed or discontinued without notice". The map is marked with nearby towns and their populations, all military and commercial airports, transmission lines, oil well derricks, lookout towers, Forest Ranger Stations, US Highways, prominent and less prominent highways, railroads, crossings, trolleys, Coast Guard stations, gradient of elevations, radio ranges, Army Navy or Marine Corps fields, Civil Aeronautics Authority intermediate fields, seaplane bases and anchorages, protected anchorages, mooring masts, rotating beacons, flashing beacons, flashing code beacons, marine navigational lights, obstructions, radio stations, radio direction finder stations, marine radiobeacons, hazard areas, caution area, danger area, prohibited areas, tunnel areas, range approach channels, and much much more. The map has its original folds, is crisp and is not marked, no tears and no weakness at folds. An amazing piece of military history, in very excellent condition. Also includes an index to published adjoining sheets. Photos of map include 2 actual scans of map named in this auction. The unfolded map photo below is indicative of map in this auction, altho it is not the actual one. I have quite a few of these and don't want to open them for photoing unless absolutely necessary. They are in pristine condition and I would like them to remain that way. I will be happy to combine map purchases to save you postage.
