Nice 1929 SMITH CORONA MODEL 4, Serial # D5P02889. I got my info about this machine from . It explains that the D in the serial number refers to models that are "Light maroon with Gold contrasting panels in crackle finish Rose Gold". This typewriter is in good condition but the x key sticks at the top and it looks like there is a very slight bend to the shaft of that letter. I made no attempt to adjust this, but it would be an easy fix for someone who knows typewriters. Some very slight paint losses as seen in the photos. Typewriter was originally sold by Chester Satz Company of Poughkeepsie, NY and remains of his label is seen on back of it.I couldn't find the 1929 price of the Model 4, but the database said that it sold for $60 in 1927. That same year a Model T Ford sold for $360. The year 1929 was probably not the best time to invest in expensive equipment with the market crashing in October.
