Howard Pyle (1853-1911) was an American illustrator and author. Coverage begins with Wm Hawkins in 1530 and ends with the surrender of General Lee and ending of the Civil War. Pictured by Howard Pyle; Compiled by Merle Johnson with narrative descriptive text from original sources and edited by Francis J. Dowd.Approximate DIMENSIONS: 9-1/4" x 12-1/2", 347 pages. Net (before packing) weight is 5 pounds 1-1/2 ounces.CONDITION: In decent pre-owned antique condition. Binding is tight and all pages are intact. A light water stain is visible on the front cover and the first couple of pages. An Old Mill School (Mill Valley School District) stamp appears on the inside back cover and a partial school library label appears on one of the front blank pages. All pictures are clear and fully usable and all print is very readable.
