A true one of a kind piece of Autograph history in the form of a 1908 paper card from the Middlesex School in Concord, MA signed by 6 famous and very distinguished and important Americans and Harvard graduates: Charles Jackson Paine, Norwood Penrose Hallowell, Robert Winsor, William Cameron Forbes, LeBaron Russell Briggs and one that I can not decipher . Just a few bullet points on these famous men's bios include: Civil War generals, baseball captains, yachting enthusiasts, golfers, bankers, captains of industry, Educators and even the governor of the Philippines and that doesn't even scratch the surface! A very important collection of signatures indeed!This card is matted to a scrapbook page that has been removed from a 1908-1912 Harvard University scrapbook belonging to 1912 Harvard graduate John Hoar who was on the football and crew teams. The reverse side of the page containing the Autographs is a pamphlet from a 1907 concert given by the Middlesex School Glee and Mandolin clubs.The Middlesex School is a prestigious boarding school in Massachusetts that continues to breed many students to become Ivy League graduates and was where Hoar attended before going to Harvard.
