1903 photo album ( 5" X 7" ) of Mount Hood Oregon APPEARS TO BE HANDMADE - MADE OF SOME KIND OF SOFT LEATHER 10 PHOTOS ( ONE LOOSE ) W / DESCRIPTION - 11 WITH THE COVER PHOTO AFTER I HAD ALREADY ADDED TEXT TO THE PICS I REALIZED THAT IT IS " CLOUD CAP INN " I`M GUESSING THIS IS 1903 , IF NOT, IT IS VERY CLOSE NICE EARLY EXAMPLES I TRIED TO COPY TEXT WORD FOR WORD BUT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO READ ALL OF THIS PERSON`S WRITING. I BELIEVE I AM VERY CLOSE TO ACCURATE. THE GLARE ON THE THIRD PIC ( AMONG THE PINES ) IS FROM THE TODAY`S SUN - NOT IN THE PHOTO Mount Hood (called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe ), is a stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc in northern Oregon , in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States . It is located about 50 miles (80 km) east-southeast of the city of Portland , on the border between Clackamas and Hood River counties.Mount Hood's snow-covered peak rises 11,249 ft (3,429 m) and is home to twelve glaciers .[4] It is the highest mountain in Oregon and the fourth-highest in the Cascade Range . Mount Hood is considered the Oregon volcano most likely to erupt, [5] though based on its history, an explosive eruption is unlikely. Still, the odds of an eruption in the next 30 years are estimated at between 3 and 7 percent, [6] so the USGS characterizes it as "potentially active". [6] The mountain
