Very rare 1880 Indiana hopeful ribbon Governor Hendricks was a serious candidate for the nomination as he had been the VP Democratic candidate on the 1876 ticket and was well liked across all lines of the party. On the first ballot Hendricks garnered 49 delegate votes and stayed on the ballot into the 2nd vote as the swing to the eventual winner, Winfield Hancock.began. This ribbon was issued to Indiana delegates and only 2 or 3 are known to exist today! The ribbon measures 2" by 5 1/2", is in mint condition except for a small pinhole in the design above the portrait. Very Rare and a beautiful example!
