This antique Civil War era China Trade "Charter Party" document dates from 1862. The document is an agreement between Eben R. Smith the master of the New Bedford ship "Tropic" and the Russell Company of Hong Kong. The ship "Tropic" of 572 tons was docked in Hong Kong but was soon to leave for Manila to pick up cargo and then on to New York or Boston. The three page document is witnessed signed, sealed and dated January 24, 1862. Very good condition! NO RESERVE!
