Offered is an antique very large ironstone platter in the Sydenham pattern made by T.R. Boote and impressed on the bottom T.& R.Boote” – “Sydenham” in a circle around the British date diamond which clearly reads: September 3, 1853. Size is 17 inches at the longest diameter and 1 5/8th inch high Wonderful Classic Octagonal shape.-- about as good as 160 year old Sydenham ironstone gets. Impressed date stamp in the glaze a bit hard to photograph but you should be able to see it. The platter is in very good used antique condition with no noticeable chips or crackling and free of restoration or damage.This well used platter has a few glaze holidays on its edges, glaze scrapes at points on the upper design, utensil marks in the well and shelf wear around the edge of the the bottom.. and is a well maintained antique but used item.
