Old circa 1850's Sunderland Luster nautical large jug, pearlware Historical Staffordshire (please see attached pictures). Item is 7" tall and 9" wide from the tip of the spout to the tip of the handle. One side has the Sailor's Farewell with the following: Far from Home across the Sea To Foreign climes I go. While far away, O think on me And I'll remember you. The front of the pitcher shows a patriotic theme and Crimea with God Save the Queen and May They Ever Be United. Other side of the jug says the following: Now weigh the anchor hoist the sail launch out upon the pathless deep Resolved however veers the gale The destined port in mind to keep Through all the dangers of the way Deliver us good Lord We pray. Condition is as follows: Handle has been repaired in four places, as shown. Also, there is a 3/8" top rim chip, as shown. Otherwise, good, just some expected wear here and there.
