Original First Bill of Exchange issued by the Bank of the United States on February 19, 1838 to John Wray in the amount of five pounds sterling. Signed by Nicholas Biddle as president and Joseph Cowperthwait as cashier. Endorsements on the back include the Provincial Bank of Ireland. Star shaped hole bank cancellation in the center. A few very smal ink erosion spots, but overall very attractive, as seen in scan. Size about 4" x 9". Free shipping. Buyer satisfaction guaranteed.
