1760-70 American Coin Silver W Moulton Tablespoon Presented is a great quality American coin silver tablespoon made by William Moulton III, the third generation in a family of American silversmiths. The handle is simple in design with a classic flared, rounded tip and raised center ridge. T is a nice shell pattern on the reverse at the base of the bowl. The back has a monogram of the letters M + L. The monogram is quite old, has some wear which is to be expected and is obviously original. The back is marked W Moulton. The last two letters of the name are not at all visible, but enough of the mark remains to definitively attribute this piece to William Moulton. This spoon is in good overall condition; the shell design is still mostly crisp. T has been a solder repair to the top of the handle which is visible on both the front and reverse, see photos. And t are a few small dings to the bowl. T are no other dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals, no other repairs and no other problems of any kind. The spoon measures 7 1/2 inches long.
