Hubert de Givenchy was born in Beauvais, France, on February 20, 1927. He started his fashion career in 1945 with Lucien Lelong. He worked with Robert Piguet, Jacques Fath, Schiarapelli, Pierre Balmain or Christian Dior. In 1952, he opened his own design house at the Plaine Monceau in Paris. The House of Givenchy was acquired by LVMH in 1989. De Givenchy retired from fashion design in 1995. This particular Givenchy clothing label is from a vintage jacket.
