Jantzen is best known for their brand of swimwear which was established in 1916 in Portland, Oregon. In the early 1950's, Jantzen created a line of Hawaiian-like motif and sport themed shirts to compete with the national Hawaiian shirt trend. The company was liquidated in 1964. The Aloha Shirt was first sold at "Musashi-ya Shoten" in Honolulu. "Musashi-ya" was established by Japanese immigrant Chotaro Miyamoto in 1904. This particular clothing label is from a Hawaiian shirt.
