King-Smith dry good store was at 36 N. King Street near Smith in Honolulu in the 1930s. It was listed in 1936 as a clothing manufacturer. King-Smith's owner Ellery Chun applied for a trademark for "Aloha" sportswear in 1936 and registered the label "Aloha" in 1937. Chun continued to run the business until 1950. The Aloha Shirt was first sold at "Musashi-ya Shoten" in Honolulu. "Musashi-ya" was established by Japanese immigrant Chotaro Miyamoto in 1904. This particular clothing label is from a Hawaiian shirt.
