Kamehameha Garment Co. LTD was started in 1936 with a small store in Honolulu, a larger factory in Hilo and a business office and showroom in Honolulu. The word Kamehameha comes from King Kamehameha , the conqueror of the Islands and first King of all the Hawaiian islands. The Aloha Shirt was first sold at "Musashi-ya Shoten" in Honolulu. "Musashi-ya" was established by Japanese immigrant Chotaro Miyamoto in 1904. This particular clothing label is from a Hawaiian shirt.
