The Hawaiian word "Hoomaha" translates to "vacation, retire, or rest", a befitting name for a Hawaii garment manufacturer in the late 1940's and 1950's. They made Aloha shirts with great themes characteristic of the islands. The Aloha Shirt was first sold at "Musashi-ya Shoten" in Honolulu. "Musashi-ya" was established by Japanese immigrant Chotaro Miyamoto in 1904. This particular clothing label is from a Hawaiian shirt.
