David D. Doniger established McGregor Doniger in 1921 in Manhattan, but the label was first used in 1923. It was a manufacturer of branded sportswear. From 1963 until 1968, the company produced a women's wear line, but it was never profitable for them. McGregor Doniger was purchased by Rapid-American in 1977.
