Martha Jane Red was born in 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved to Taos, New Mexico, in 1953. In 1955 she opened her own shop which remained in the same location for 38 years, until 1993. Martha died in 2010. This particular Martha of Taos clothing label is from a 1970 skirt.
