Christina Wetherill Shillard-Smith was born in 1910 in Philadelphia. She studied in Paris and in 1931 she married Curtin Leser. In 1935, they moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where Tina Leser began her fashion career. In 1942, she closed her store in Honolulu and moved to New York. She worked for Foreman, Gabar and Tina Leser Originals. This particular Tina Leser clothing label is from a 1940s tie.
