Charles Henry Harrod established Harrods in 1849. It was a small grocery. The store continued to grow until it occupied the entire block on which it stood. It was sold to Mohamed Al Fayed in 1985 and to Quatar Holding Co. in 2010. Today Harrods remains one of the most famous department stores in the world. This particular Harrods clothing label is from a pair of 1940s shoes.
