Madame Alix Gres was born Germaine Emilie Krebs in Paris, France, in 1903. Her design house was closed during the World War II. After the war she began creating her famous Grecian pleated dresses. In 1987 the house went bankrupt. This particular Alix Gres clothing label is from a 1940s day dress.
