Cristobal Balenciaga Eizaguirre was born in 1896 in Spain. He opened Eisa in 1917 in San Sebastian. He left Spain and went to Paris where he opened his couture house in 1937. The Eisa fashion house managed to be open until 1968. Balenciaga died on March 23, 1972. In 2015 the brand announced Demna Gvasalia as its new creative director. This particular Balenciaga clothing label is from a 1962 mohair coat.
