Christian Dior, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, was born in 1905 in Granville, Manche, France. At the ahe of five, he and his family moved to Paris where in 1928 he opened a small art gallery. He worked as a fashion designer for Robert Piguet and Lucien Lelong. He founded his own fashion house in 1946 and lounched his first collection called Corolle. Christian Dior died in 1957 in Italy. Today, the fashion house is owned by groupe Arnault. This particular Christian Dior clothing label is from a pair of 1958 shoes.
