Gabrielle ,,Coco" Chanel opened a millinery shop in Paris, France, in 1909. Her first true collection was launched in 1922. During the WWII, Chanel was closed but comeback in 1954. Coco Chanel died in 1971; she was still designing at the time of her death. The leadership of the company was taken over by Yvonne Dudel, Jean Cazaubon and Phillippe Guibourge.
