Paul Lowe Sloan, Par Cain and John E. Cain started Cain-Sloan in Nashville, Tennesse, in 1903. In 1955, the company merged with Allied Stores Corp. of New York. In 1987 Cain-Sloan was sold to Dillard's and renamed after it. This particular Cain-Sloan clothing label is from a 1940s hat.
