Donald Brooks was born as Donald Marc Blumberg in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1928. He started his career at Darbury. In 1971 he opened a boutique but he closed it in 1973. He was very passioned about designing stage and film costumes. In the 1990s he started to work for Ann Taylor as a consultant. Donald Brooks died in 2005.
