The logo in this image is a Pittsburgh Pirates primary logo. It was used from 1900 to 1907. Like many other teams in the American National League, the Pittsburgh Pirates have a long history. They started in 1882 known as the Allegheny. In 1891 the name was changed and the team became the Pittsburgh Pirates. The team is the proud owner of five World Series titles-- titles won in 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, and 1979. The Pittsburgh Pirates best player is Roberto Clemente, right fielder, who played professional baseball for 18 years. He played all those years for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
