The Beaumont Glass Company was established in 1895 at Martins Ferry, Ohio by Percy J. Beaumont. By 1902, the company had outgrown its location and was moved to Grafton, West Virginia. This firm did not join the National Glass combine, remaining independent until 1906 when it was sold to the Hocking Glass Company, of Lancaster, Ohio. The Columbia pattern is one of the numerous glass patterns of the company, and can be seen here on a typical salt shaker.
